Anthony M. Ridnell is CEO and President of TRInternational, Inc. (TRI). He founded the company in 1994 and is on the Board of Directors, National Association of Chemical Distributors (2000 - Present), and the Board of Advisors, Seattle University Albers School of Business(2006 - Present). He graduated a 2nd Lieutenant in 1982 from the United States Military Academy, West Point, New York, and served as a Field Artillery Battery Commander from 1986-88. He represented the USA Eagles (national team) in three separate Rugby World Cup events (1987, 1991, 1993).

TRI conducts over $70 Million in sales, has 30 employees, four regional offices in the U.S., Global Trade headquarters in Dubai UAE, a two-person office in Shanghai, China and a sourcing office in New Delhi, India. A new addition in 2012, an office in Calgary, AB, services the Canadian oil sands industry.  TRI ranks in the Top 60 on the list of the Nation’s Top 100 Chemical Distributors, and has three times received recognition as one of the fastest growing privately held businesses in Washington State (2004, 2008, 2010).

Most recently, he was VP & Chief Procurement Officer of WellPoint, Inc., a leading health benefits company. Tony was responsible for the procurement of WellPoint’s $3 billion of indirect expenditures. that included such diverse categories as IT hardware and software, telecom, business process outsourcing, IT offshore professional services, print, marketing materials, advertising and media, other marketing services, freight, facilities related expenses, capital expenditures, legal, temporary labor, recruitment, other HR services and consulting. He also had responsibility for specification and demand management initiatives, sourcing best practices, Supplier Diversity, supplier relationship management, the buying organization and IT directly supporting the sourcing technology.

Prior to WellPoint, Tony spent 30 years with Bristol-Myers Squibb in a variety of finance and procurement roles.

Tony earned his BS in Accounting from SUNY at Buffalo and his MBA with a concentration in Finance from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.  He is a CPA and a CPSM (Certified Professional in Supply Management).
